Florentino Perez brought up the Negreira investigation in his press conference on Tuesday. Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira was a referee in LALIGA from 1977 to 1992 and later became the vice president of the refereeing committee in Spain. It emerged in 2023 following an investigation by the Spanish tax office, that Negreira's companies received almost €1.4m from Barca between 2016-2018.
